Welcome to Ballina Buslines

Ballina township is centred on an island at the mouth of the Richmond River, located on the far north coast of New South Wales. Its name is derived from the aboriginal word 'Bullenah', which reputedly means 'place where oysters are plentiful'. Ballina's reputation as a favoured fishing location, together with its beautiful beaches and ideal climate has made the town one of the states most popular lifestyle and tourist destinations.

Public transport for Ballina's permanent population of 16,050 and its growing tourist numbers is served by Ballina Buslines. The company's fleet of 35 vehicles travels over 820,000 kilometers each year, operating bus routes throughout the northern coastal region. The service provides customers with quick and efficient transport to and from all of the area's major retail, commercial, educational, health and leisure facilities. Ballina Buslines also services areas as far north as Mullumbimby, south to Evans Head and east to Lismore and operates charter services for school and other group excursions.
